Working with Michal is quite the unique artistic experience. He is generous yet demanding, kind, gentle, and greatly skilled at his craft. 'The proof is in the pudding,' the work speaks volumes for itself. I am immensely grateful for his passion and commitment to great work.

„It's always inspiring to be in the presence of an artist at work. Even before we arrived for the photo shoot, Michal already had a vision of the atmosphere that he wanted to create. He directed us like a conducter directs an orchestra. Michal Mecner is not just a photographer; he is an artist.“
Anne Morris, American poet
Just keep doing what you're doing, Michal said. We were about to begin our evening walk and photo shoot and, as I was struggling to subdue unmanageable hair in the wind,. Michal was already shooting pictures. This, perhaps, is an example of an artist's gift for sensing the creative potential of any given situation. Gradually, due in part to this approach, I became relaxed with both him and the camera as we began our 'story' walk called 'Summering' through the Prague evening.
Michal has, without question, a refined aesthetic sensibility, the soul of a poet. His photos that evening I felt, captured the essence of me in various moods, as well as the stunning beauty of early nightfall as it fell over the Vltava.
With the addition of unique and creative storylines to his work, I think he could be called the Poet Photographer.

Michal has a natural gift for photographic composition and lighting. He can sense just the right moment to shoot the picture. And most of all, Michal is true to the art of photography. His portraits, landscapes and still life photographs avoid any cliché and when you view them they are fresh and original experiences. When he took pictures of me and my family he was able to capture the true essence of each one of us, which is especially difficult when photographing small children.
When shooting portraits Michal is a consummate professional. He assesses the surrounding environment, the subject matter and the intended message and then distills it all into a powerful photographic statement.
