After our session, which in fact was a pleasant summer day's stroll, I handed to Alasdair, a folk and confessional blues singer, the portraits along with a note. Being a little shy, he expressed worries about his smile. That is why I wrote to him to laugh as often and as broadly as possible, both on- and off-stage, because his smile is one of those that relieves a heart that grieves...
