Josef Brukner
Poet, writer, translator and movie scriptwriter... One year in spring Josef widowed. I used to know his wife, madam Yvonne; even in advanced age her voice was like a young girl's. I paid a visit to Josef at Christmas time and brought him a few cookies. His little house was nestled in snow and Josef was recalling memories. On the piano there lay an open songbook with Can't help falling in love. This was the music of Josef and Yvonne's youth. His hands, fragile with age and tired with grief, took hold of the keys after so long... And when Josef finished the song he looked somewhere far way...
As I was drifting into sleep that night, I still could hear: "Wise men say only fools rush in / But I can't help falling in love with you..."
